Big disappointment

We left early today from Merrit to Vancouver as my middle son had flown to Vancouver from Calgary to visit his brothers and we said we would come down for the day. This morning the shortest route the Coquihalla Hwy was socked in with snow so we opted to go the other way and got halfway there and an avalanche came down over the road and they turned us back. No visiting for me. Oh well at least we weren't under the avalanche.

An avalanche! I didn't know there was enough snow left to create an avanlanche through that stretch of road.

Too sad, that you didn't get your visit.

Boy I guess that is a darned good thing you didn't get caught under an avalanche! Bummer though that you couldn't get through to see your son.

Total bummer. The avalanche risk was huge up in the mountains here last week. I'm really glad you weren't swept up by all that wet heavy snow!

With Spring well underway here I had forgotten that late Winter was still hanging on (and sometimes slipping down the mountains) in the interior of BC.
